‘Kashmir Solidarity Signature Campaign’ held outside Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: ‘Kashmir Solidarity Signature Campaign’ was organized in front of the Punjab Assembly, Lahore, under the auspices of Kashmir Center Lahore.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the signature campaign continued from morning till evening in which a large number of political leaders, Hurriyat leaders, leaders of social and religious parties, members of civil society, women and children participated and signed in support of the oppressed Kashmiris.

During the campaign, ordinary citizens came to the Kashmir Center camp and inquired about the current situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A stall of publications of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell was also set up in the camp and literature was distributed among the participants of the camp.

The signature campaign, includes former Lord Mayor of Lahore Colonel (Retd) Mubashir Javed, APHC-AJK former General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Mateen, former minister of the Government Nasir Hussain Dar, MNA Kiran Dar, former Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Sohail Shaukat, former Presidential Advisor Naseebullah Gardezi, PPP leader Ghulam Abbas Mir, Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan Raja Abdul Jabbar Advocate, former MP Farzana Butt, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Zarqa Javed, Professor Asma Hassan, Agha Rab Nawaz Durrani, Chairman of Muttahida Asatiza Mahaz Pakistan Taj Haider, leader of the Mahaz Raishumari Aftab Nazki, world tourist Maqsood Chughtai, Hurriyat leaders Syed Gulshan Ahmed, Engineer Mushtaq Mahmood, senior journalist Saba Mumtaz Bano, League leader Zarqa Naseem, Saira Bano, Sardar Javed Akhtar, Farooq Azad, Syed Manzoor Gilani, Masood Jilani, Junaid Saif, Amjad Rathore, Saira Arshad, Dr Ahsan, Raja Shahzad Ahmed, Bilal Butt, Chaudhry Siddique, Qazi Anwar, Malik Naveed, Naeem. Butt, Raja Sher Zaman Advocate, Abdul Lateef Chughtai and Attaullah Islahi besides a large number of ordinary citizens and children participated and paid tribute to the struggle of the oppressed Kashmiris for freedom.

The speakers on the occasion reiterated their commitment of moral, diplomatic and political support for the Kashmiris at all levels and demand of the international community to recognize the demand of the Kashmiris for self-determination and implement the plebiscite.

They said India is the world’s biggest oppressor country which has been involved in serious human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the past over seven decades.

They said the Indian troops are martyring Kashmiris every day, but despite this, the Kashmiris have never deviated from their mission. “Today, the entire Pakistani nation is showing great solidarity with the Kashmiris. We salute the struggle of the Kashmiris,” they added.

They said in fact, the Kashmiris are sacrificing their lives not only for their freedom but also for the completion of Pakistan. They further said the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell has tried to convey the voice of their hearts to the Kashmiri people and the international community by involving ordinary citizens in the signature campaign. “We pay tribute to the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell for this wonderful effort,” they concluded.
