Hurriyat leaders extend Eid greetings to Muslim Ummah and Kashmiri people

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims worldwide, particularly the Kashmiri people, while conveying a message of unity, patience, and compassion.

According to Kashmir Media Service, illegally detained Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam in his message from Jammu jail and Dr. Qamar-ul-Zaman Zargar, President of the Muslim Students Federation, in a statement in Srinagar, said that Eid is a day of thanksgiving and divine blessings. They appealed to the Kashmiri people to specially remember the families of martyrs and illegally detained Kashmiris during the celebrations and to show solidarity with them, emphasizing the importance of empathy and support for those facing hardships. “We have to be extremely kind to the families who had suffered at the hands of Indian troops during the ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmir,” they added.

The leaders highlighted that the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to face severe hardships under the ongoing oppressive situation, with persistent human rights violations. They said the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people have strengthened their resolve and commitment to the struggle for justice. Other Hurriyat leaders in Srinagar also extended Eid greetings, praying for Muslims worldwide, particularly those living under occupation and oppression. They voiced deep concern over ongoing state terrorism in both Palestine and Kashmir, urging religious scholars to offer special prayers during Eid-ul-Fitr and seek Allah’s blessings for the realization of freedom and justice for the oppressed peoples of Palestine and Kashmir, from the tyrannies of Israel and India.

Meanwhile, a joint statement by APHC-AJK convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah, and Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt extended heartfelt Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah and the Kashmiri people. They called on people to celebrate Eid simply while giving special attention to the families of Kashmiri martyrs.

The statement emphasized that on this sacred day, the Kashmiri people should not forget the Hurriyat leaders, activists, journalists, and human rights defenders who have endured years of imprisonment in Indian jails and detention centers for the cause of their homeland’s freedom. They paid tribute to the courage, resilience, and determination of detainees and prayed to Allah for their health, safety, release, and the swift liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
