Hundreds of vehicles stranded as landslide blocks Srinagar-Jammu highway

Jammu: The Srinagar-Jammu highway remained closed for traffic on Tuesday due to landslides and intermittent rainfall in Ramban sector, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded in Udhampur and other areas.
According to officials, the highway was blocked late Sunday night after a fresh landslide struck near Jaswal Bridge area between Karool and Chanderkote. Restoration work is slow.
SSP Traffic Raja Adil Hameed said restoration work and clearance of stranded vehicles is ongoing near Karool amid light rainfall. Authorities have advised commuters to avoid travel on the highway until it’s fully restored and weather conditions improve.
