Rajouri echoes with gunfire, blasts as India’s 11th day military operation drags on

Srinagar: Gunshots and heavy explosions reverberated across Rajouri throughout Monday as Indian forces pressed ahead with a massive cordon and search operation for the 11th consecutive day, today, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, multi-layered military sweeps continued in Rajouri and adjoining areas, keeping residents on edge amid the prolonged operation. Indian Army, the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, Special Operations Group and so-called Village Defence Guards continued the violent operation, codenamed Operation Sherawali, in the Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal-Manjakote areas of Rajouri district.
Fresh gunshots and a series of heavy explosions of Indian forces were heard throughout the day on Monday during operation in Dori Maal in the Gambhir Mughalan area of Rajouri district, where Indian forces are engaged in a prolonged operation for the past ten days.
Locals said the entire Gambhir Mughalan region was rattled by the powerful blasts, with explosions echoing across the valley and creating a tense atmosphere in the surrounding villages.
Indian forces using war helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs while para commandos have been deployed in the rugged terrain. All entry and exit routes to the area remain sealed, while residents are being subjected to repeated door-to-door searches.
Meanwhile, the similar cordon and search operations are also continuing in different areas of Poonch, Kishtwar and Baramulla districts of the territory.
Heavy movement of Indian forces including Indian Army, Police, SOG, CRPF is taking place in the above districts.
