India has no right to object to Pakistan-Turkish friendship: Hakan Fidan

Singapore:has categorically rejected India’s unjustified criticism of the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hakan Fidan during a lecture at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Singapore said Pakistan and Turkey have had deep political, diplomatic and defence relations spanning decades.

He made it clear that India should not consider the friendship between Turkey and Pakistan as an act against it or hostility. India’s criticism of Pakistan’s good relations with any independent country is a reflection of its poor foreign policy and insecurity, he added.

The Turkish Foreign Minister further said Turkey is not the only country in the world that has deep relations with Pakistan. If India, he said, expresses displeasure with countries only on the basis that they have friendly relations with Pakistan, then this behavior is completely contrary to diplomatic etiquette.

According to analysts, this categorical statement by Hakan Fidan is enough to expose the weaknesses of Indian foreign policy at the global level.

India has a long-standing habit of viewing every country that establishes relations with Pakistan with suspicion and considering it as its rival.

According to experts, this statement by the Turkish Foreign Minister is being described as a clear and categorical diplomatic stance, which highlights the importance of independent decisions in international relations.

It should be noted that relations between Pakistan and Turkey have a historical background and Turkey has continued to provide moral support to Pakistan on important global issues including the Kashmir dispute.

This statement by Hakan Fidan proves that Turkey is not tolerant of accepting any external pressure on its independent foreign policy.
