Sonam Wangchuk’s health deteriorates on 16th day of hunger strike
CJP protest enters 24th day at Delhi's Jantar Mantar today

New Delhi: Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s health has worsened on the 156th day of his indefinite hunger strike as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest demanding the resignation of Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination irregularities entered its 24th day today at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a health update shared by the CJP revealed that Wangchuk’s blood pressure dropped to 104/66 mm Hg and he has lost 7.8 kg since the fast began.
Several political leaders and public intellectuals are scheduled to visit the protest site to express solidarity.
The CJP has been demanding Pradhan’s resignation and Rs 1 crore compensation for families of students who died by suicide over the examination scandals.
The outfit has also announced a peaceful march to Indian Parliament on July 20, the first day of the Monsoon Session.
