Indian forces launch search operations in three IIOJK districts

Srinagar: Indian forces have launched multiple search operations across Kupwara, Poonch and Rajouri districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, a massive search operation is underway in the Jumgund area of Keran sector in Kupwara district. Indian forces claimed to have detected a suspicious movement in the area on Saturday morning, prompting the operation. They also reported a brief exchange of fire.
In Poonch district, personnel from the Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Operations Group (SOG) jointly launched search operations at multiple locations. The operations are ongoing in the Gursai-Harooni-Baidhar area of Mendhar sub-division, Dharana village, Kashmir Mohalla, Behri forest and adjoining areas, as well as the Manglanu-Chilla forest areas falling under the jurisdiction of Mankote sector.
Meanwhile, joint teams of the Indian Army and police, assistance by intelligence agencies, are conducting searches in the Thungwali area of Kandi in Rajouri district. Earlier, Indian forces claimed to have recovered an improvised explosive device in the area.
The operations were continuing in all three districts, with further details awaited.
*Concerns over suppression of dissent*
It is worth mentioning that Indian troops frequently conduct military operations across IIOJK under various pretexts. Kashmir watchers say these operations are aimed at suppressing political dissent, silencing Kashmiri voices and intimidating local residents into abandoning their legitimate demands for rights, particularly their UN-recognized right to self-determination.
