APHC-AJK holds demo in Islamabad against Indian atrocities in IIOJK

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a protest demonstration, today, outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad against the Indian state terrorism in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest led by APHC-AJK Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, was attended by a large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and women.

Addressing the protesters, the Hurriyat leaders said India is systematically committing genocide of Kashmiris to suppress their struggle for inalienable right to self-determination. They said the Indian troops recently martyred four civilians in custody in Rajouri district while hundreds have been arrested during cordon and search operations and house raids in the last one week across the occupied territory.

The speakers said India is attempting to change the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir. They said the people of occupied Kashmir have been facing the worst Indian state terrorism for the last over seven decades. They strongly condemned the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian forces’ personnel in the occupied territory.

The Hurriyat leaders made it clear that durable peace in South Asia is not possible without resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute in line with the relevant UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The speakers criticized the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s decision of banning the pro-freedom organizations, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League headed by APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, founded by Syed Ali Gilani Shaheed. They said, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Democratic Freedom Party, Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Jamaat-e-Islami in occupied Kashmir have already been banned. They maintained that such nefarious actions cannot subdue the Kashmir freedom movement.

The Hurriyat leaders reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs. They appealed to the international community to play its role in the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

The speakers also urged the international human rights organizations to take notice of the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in different jails of India and occupied Kashmir and play a role in their early release.

The demonstration was attended among others by Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Mir Tahir Masood, Altaf Hussain Wani, Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Sanaullah Dar, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub, Nisar Mirza, Hassan Banaa, Javed Iqbal Butt, Muhammad Sultan Butt, Syed Mushtaq, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Advocate Parvez Ahmed, Khursheed Ahmad Mir, Raja Khadim Hussain, Dawood Yousafzai, Rahi Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Gulshan Ahmed, Zahid Safi, Shawkat Hussain Butt, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Mian Muzaffar, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Raies Ahmad Mir, Syed Kifayat Rizvi, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Maher-un-Nisa, Fiza Sajid, Abid Razzaq Abbasi, Sajid Qureshi, Fazil Tabasim, Rashid Shah, Sajid Qureshi, Afsar Khan, Malik Nayeem, Najeebullah and Ghafoor Khan.
