Cop dies in ‘accidental fire’ in Indian Punjab
Jalandhar: A police Sub-Inspector was killed after being hit by what appears to be an accidental fire in Jalandhar city of the Indian state of Punjab.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Sub-Inspector identified as Bhupinder Singh (50) lost his life after being shot at in the parking lot of the CIA staff office in Jalandhar (Rural) police.
Gurpreet Singh, SHO, Division No. 2, who is leading the investigation, said Bhupinder Singh was cleaning his official 9mm service pistol while sitting in his car. Unexpectedly, a bullet was discharged from the pistol and hit him in the head. He succumbed to the injuries on the spot.
Meanwhile, Vikas Amarpal Jaiswal, a resident of Mumbai, was arrested on the charges of making a hoax bomb call to the police in Samaspur village of Gurugram district of Haryana state.
