Tarigami labels Ratle agreement unjust, detrimental, urges withdrawal
Srinagar: The leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, has described the recent power purchase agreement between Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan for a 40-year term as unjust and said that the deal was also detrimental to the development of the economy of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in a statement issued in Srinagar said the agreement comes at a time when the Jammu and Kashmir is facing a severe electricity shortage, exacerbating the concerns of the people.
“Instead of compensating the losses, our resources are handed over to other states,” he deplored. The decision, being highly unjustified and unjust, is bound to make the people suffer more and it needs to be withdrawn, he maintained.
