Advani pursued political career filled with hate and crimes: Tamil Nadu MP

New Delhi: Member of Indian parliament from Tamil Nadu state Thol. Thirumavalavan has said that BJP leader L K Advani pursued a political career filled with hate and crimes and he does not deserve India’s top civilian award Bharat Ratna.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tamil Nadu’s Chidambaram constituency MP and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder Thol. Thirumavalavan in a statement said L.K. Advani deserves nothing but contempt. He said the highest civilian award is being conferred on a person who has pursued a political career filled with hate and crimes. Throughout his political life, Advani has propagated the idea of majoritarian hate against minorities, he said.

The lawmaker argued that Advani played a key role in strengthening Hindutva in Indian politics. “Mr Advani brought down V.P. Singh’s government which recommended reservations for Hindu OBCs (Other Backward Classes) in India. He undertook Rath Yatra, which became a ‘Ratha yatra’ (yatra of blood) against Shudras of India. He was instrumental in the demolition of Babri Masjid and spreading hate against Muslims,” the VCK leader said.

Thol. Thirumavalavan pointed out that Advani is responsible for sowing the seeds of all the problems and chaos faced by Indian society today. Narendra Modi’s government is giving a Bharat Ratna to a person who has achieved these records, he said.

Advani, the hardcore Hindutva politician who is infamous for his RSS-led anti-Muslim campaigns, had launched his Rath Yatra on September 25, 1990, to garner support for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. In the aftermath, Babri Masjid was demolished and hundreds of Muslims were killed.
