Speakers pay rich tributes to Kashmiri women for their resilience in advancing Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination
Muzaffarabad: Speakers at various seminars in Muzaffarabad and Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, marking the International Women’s Day, today, paid rich tributes to Kashmiri women for their resilience in advancing the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society on International Women Day organized a program at Al-Mustafa Complex in which the Vocational Training Institute, Institute for Rehabilitation of Handicapped and other organizations participated.
The function was presided over by President of Al-Mustafa Welfare Ateeq Ahmed Kiani while women wing head Sumera Baig, Social activist Dr Munaza Yaqoob, Aleena Ali also addressed the gathering.
The participants paid tributes to Kashmiri and Palestinian women who faced the Indian and Israeli brutalities with courage.
Addressing the gathering Ateeq Ahmed said the barbaric Indian and IsraeIi forces have kept their barbarism, against children, women and old men of Kashmir and Palestine. Women folks for two illegally occupied states are facing occupation forces with valor, he added.
He called upon the civilized world to use its influence to force India and Israel to stop ruthless suppression on women.
Institute of Dialogue Development and Diplomatic Studies (IDDDS) in a seminar titled “Call of My Pain”, organized on the occasion of International Women;s Day, at Government Girls College Garhi Dupatta Muzaffarabad also paid tributes to women of Kashmir for their valor to face Indian brutalities.
Prof Samina, Principal of the College said that Kashmiri women are hard targets of Indian Army’s brutalities. She paid tributes to Asia Andrabi, Fahmeeda Sofi, Naheed Nasreen, and other women facing illegal detention saying these women are icons and beacon light for other women.
The seminar was also addressed by teachers and students of the college.
Pasban e Hurriyat also organized a function in Bagh to mark the International Women Day at Women University Bagh which was attended by a large number of teachers and students.
The participants called upon international forces to take cognizance of brutalities let loose on Kashmir women by Indian forces. It is unfortunate that a scalded democratic and secular country has indulged in maligning international laws.
