Indian troops kill nine youth in Chhattisgarh
Raipur: Indian troops killed nine more youth in violence-hit Chhattisgarh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, along with forces from the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), District Reserve Guard and Special Task Force killed the youth during an operation in a forest near Lendra village of Bijapur district of the state.
Indian officials claimed that those killed were members of the Naxal or Maoist guerrillas, who are demanding independence from Indian hegemony.
Bastar IG Sundarraj said the operation took place after they received a tip off about the presence of a senior naxal named Papa Rao.
Recently, Indian paramilitary and police personnel during an operation killed six Maoist members in a fake encounter in Bijapur district of the state.
These incidents are indicative of the ongoing conflict and violence in several Indian states especially in the north east.
