Pakistan will continue to provide support to IIOJK people: FO Spokesperson

Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir for a just and peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in her weekly press briefing in Islamabad, today, expressed dismay over the Indian authorities’ decision to prohibit the observance of key religious events like Jumatul Wida, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid ul Fitr at the Srinagar Jamia Masjid.

She said this is the fifth year in a row that the occupying administration has not allowed Eid prayers to be offered in this historic mosque.

She said imposing curbs on religious leaders and preventing Kashmiris from religious gatherings posed serious challenges to the religious freedom of Muslims in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

She reiterated that Pakistan would continue extending its support to the people of Kashmir till their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council’s resolutions.
