In another move to make India Hindutva state, Modi govt changesTV logo to saffron
New Delhi: The Modi government has changed the logo of the state TV “Doordarshan” from red colour to saffron, taking another step to make India a Hindutva state before the general elections.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Doordarshan’s English news channel DD News recently shared a new promotional video on X and introduced Doordarshan’s new logo which is saffron in colour.
Seeing the new logo, people started criticizing it online. People say it is saffron colour and this move has come just before general elections.
Former head of Prasar Bharti (Doordarshan and All India Radio operate under Prasar Bharti) and Trinamool Congress leader Johar Sarkar strongly criticizing the move, said it is sad to see the logo of Doordarshan in saffron just before the Lok Sabha elections.
He posted on X that the national broadcaster Doordarshan has painted its historic flagship logo in saffron. He said that as its former CEO, he sees its saffronisation as an alarm bell.
He termed this move as a violation of the election code of conduct and said the Election Commission has not level playing for the elections. It had promised to provide the field, but this move of Doordarshan is a manifestation of partiality, he maintained.
