VDG injured in firing incident in Udhampur
Jammu: A village Defence Guard (VDG) was injured in a firing incident in a remote village in Udhampur district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the firing was reported from Panara village of Basantgarh when a patrolling party of VDGs confronted some suspiciously moving persons in a forest area.
Reports said around 7.30am, a patrolling party consisting of VDC members and SPOs of police-post Sang, Basantgarh noticed some suspicious activity in Dhau area of Seri Gallah-Basantgarh, Udhampur. Unknown number of people, hiding in a Dhok, opened fire on the patrolling party.
Reportedly, a VDC, resident of Khaned, received gunshot wound injuries. However, attackers have likely fled from the area after the incident.
