IIOJK police book another person for using VPN in Rajouri
Jammu: Indian police have booked another man for using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) application on his mobile phone in Rajouri district of occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mohammad Zishan, a resident of Kalakote area of Rajouri, is the third person against whom the police have initiated proceedings on similar grounds during the last two days in the district.
An official said that a team of police was on usual patrolling when they intercepted some people for routine frisking. During investigation, it was found that Mohammad Dishan has downloaded and installed three VPN softwares in his phone, he said.
The incident follows an order by the Additional District Magistrate, Rajeev Kumar Khajuria, who suspended VPN services in the district.
Notably, the twin district of Rajouri and Poonch have been witnessing massive cordon and search operations by the Indian troops for the last four days during which over a dozen people have been arrested so far.
