Allegations that BJP allies raped hundreds of women rock Indian politics
Bengaluru: A member of parliament from a BJP ally in Karnataka, Prajwal Revanna, stands accused of perpetrating heinous crimes against women. Indian media reported that Revanna has been accused of sexually assaulting over 400 women, leading India to a state of dismay and outrage.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the allegations against Revanna paint a grim picture of abuse of power and exploitation, especially against women, who are more than half of Indian population.
Indian media reported that the main culprit escaped to Germany, evading justice despite the gravity of the accusations leveled against him. Disturbingly, it’s alleged that Revanna used more than 2,800 videos of the assaults to blackmail his victims, inflicting further trauma upon them.
Victims have come forward with harrowing accounts of repeated rape and threats of violence, with some stating that the ordeal lasted for years. Shockingly, despite multiple complaints lodged with the Modi government, no action was taken, leading to widespread condemnation and criticism.
Meanwhile, political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, have denounced the Hindu fanatic Modi led government’s inaction, exposing what they describe as the true face of the administration. Rahul Gandhi has vehemently asserted that this is not merely a scandal but a series of gang rapes, with the government allegedly turning a blind eye to the perpetrators.
In response to mounting pressure, the Modi government has remained defiant, refusing to address questions regarding its association with Revanna. This obstinate stance has only intensified public outcry and calls for accountability.
