University students hold protest in Jammu against lack of facilities
Jammu: Students at Jammu University held a day-long protest demonstration in favour their demands including access to the library, free WiFi on campus, transportation from Jammu University to the old campus and an increase in hostel capacity.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest forced the university authorities to shift two exam centers from the Central Library, where the demonstration was being held.
The protest, led by Parteek Raina, blocked entry and exit points of the library and prevented candidates from taking the B Sc Nursing examination. The university authorities eventually shifted the exam centers to the JU Law School and other locations.
The protest continued until 4 pm, with students claiming that despite repeated reminders, the university authorities failed to take any positive action on their long-pending demands.
