Indian CRPF man commits suicide in Chhattisgarh
Ranchi: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man, identified as Basant Kumar took his own life in the Dhurwa area of Ranchi in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, his family revealed that he had been facing harassment from his superiors within the paramilitary force, leading to his untimely death.
Basant Kumar’s wife, Chanchala Sinha, and son, Rituraj, expressed that he had been enduring continuous harassment and torture from a CRPF officer, causing him immense distress. They highlighted the departmental pressure he faced and the troubling circumstances he endured. Originally from Vaishali district of Bihar, Kumar had dedicated 24 years of service to the CRPF and was currently working in the kitchen of the 133 battalion camp.
This event sheds light on the concerning trend of suicides among paramilitary personnel, with recent data revealing a distressing number of suicides within the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
