Modi will attack AJK within six months if re-elected as Indian PM: Omar Abdullah

SrinaSrinagar: National Conference (NC) vice president, Omar Abdullah, has warned that Narendra Modi will launch an attack on Azad Kashmir within six months if re-elected as prime minister of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in an exclusive media interview, Abdullah stated that he expects no relief for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes back to power in India. He expressed minimal expectations from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). “Nothing good will come out of their returning to power, as far as J&K is concerned,” he said.

“You’ve had senior BJP people talking about dismembering the Constitution, rewriting the Constitution and completely reorienting what India will look like,” he said.

Abdullah warned of the possibility of immediate conflict with Pakistan over Azad Kashmir if Modi is re-elected. He referenced statements from senior BJP officials suggesting that within six months of Modi’s re-election, there would be efforts to “erase Pakistan’s control” over Azad Kashmir, implying that this could lead to war.

H showed optimism about the INDIA bloc’s potential to restore statehood to J&K before Assembly elections and address issues like land, jobs, and domicile protections. He also voiced fears about potential threats. He lamented New Delhi and its agencies were trying to destroy NC.

Abdullah criticized the BJP’s shift to religious polarization and targeting Pakistan, indicating discomfort with their electoral performance.
