94th death anniversary of Mirwaiz Ahmadullah Shah observed in IIOJK
Srinagar: The 94th death anniversary of the prominent religious scholar, the revered personality of Kashmir and former President of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, Mirwaiz Maulana Ahmadullah Shah (RA) was observed, today, with great reverence and respect in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the current President of the Anjuman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq could not attend the special ceremony due to being under house arrest.
In the special ceremony organised by the Anjuman, the staff, teachers and students paid rich tributes to the late Mirwaiz for his religious, social, and spiritual services. They described him as a true lover of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a follower of the Sunnah, a leader of ‘Shariat Wa Tareeqat’, as well as a person of excellent character and morality.
The Anjuman mentioned that the late Mirwaiz, during his time, exposed the great conspiracy against the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH). He launched a powerful movement among the public against this mischief, making every possible effort to save the Kashmiri Muslims from the storm of disbelief and apostasy. He continued to perform his duties and responsibilities diligently until his death.
It also highlighted that the late Mirwaiz Ahmadullah Shah (RA) was the first in Kashmir to have the honour of signing the historic memorandum presented to the Viceroy of India against dogra tyranny and for the restoration of the political and social rights of the Muslims of Kashmir . As a result, he faced severe hardships and persecution
The statement paid great tribute to the late Mirwaiz for his educational services towards the Anjuman, his reforms, the establishment of Islamia Oriental College under his patronage, and other activities, declaring him an exemplary personality.
Later, Quran khwani was held at Islamia Oriental College the late Mirwaiz, as well as for Mirwaiz Rasool shah the founder of the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam Mirwaiz Allama Rasool Shah (RA), his companions, other late presidents, officials, assistants and devotees of the Anjuman.
