Cop injured in mob attack while executing court warrant in Shopian
Shopian: A police team engaged in raids against innocent civilians in Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was assaulted by people fed up with frequent raids and cordon and search operations by Indian occupation forces.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police have filed a case against several individuals, stating that the team was attacked during the execution of a court warrant against an offender in the district.
The incident occurred when a police team went to the house of Manzoor Ahmed in Khurmpora village of the district to execute the court warrant. It is reported that people in the area gathered and assaulted the police team, resulting in injuries to one of them. The injured cop, identified as Ajaz Ahmed, was initially taken to the district hospital in Shopian and later shifted to Soura hospital for further treatment.
An FIR has been registered at the Imam Sahab police station in connection with the incident. The police have reportedly identified over half a dozen assailants.
