Indian government is targeting Kashmiris for massive reprisals, Advocate Parvez
Islamabad: The All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chapter has condemned the unjustified arrests of innocent Kashmiri youth, killing of youth in police custody and other acts of repression by Indian forces.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC- AJK, General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmed said in a statement issued here on Wednesday that Indian soldiers recently killed young people as well as women and elderly people during siege and search operations in various areas of Pulwama district.
He said that the Modi government is subjecting Kashmiris to massive reprisals, it has denied all the basic rights of Kashmiris and it is following a very nefarious plan to convert the majority of Muslims in the region into a minority.
The only demand of Kashmiris is to exercise their inalienable right of Self-Determination as enshrined in UN Charter and its resolutions, Pervez Shah added.
Hurriyat leader said that Kashmiris are rendering unparallel sacrifices for the sacred cause of freedom, Advocate Pervez Ahmed sai, adding that India has failed miserably to suppress the freedom spirit of Kashmiris through atrocities and he is determined to continue the mission of the martyrs to achieve the goal.
He said that long-lasting peace and stability in the region cannot be established without resolving the Kashmir issue. The international community should take notice of Indian stubbornness and unrealistic behavior and put pressure on it to resolve the Kashmir conflict.
