Concern expressed over Kashmiri political detainees’ plight in jails
Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Abdul Samad Inqilabi has expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri political detainees languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory and demanded their release before Eid-ul-Adha.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdul Samad Inqilabi in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that hundreds of people, including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Asiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Dr Muhammad Qasim Faktu, Dr Shafi Shariati and Ghulam Qadir Butt have been detained in jails under the black law Public Safety Act (PSA).
He said India is treating illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists like criminals in jails even though they are being deprived of all basic facilities.
Abdul Samad Ingilabi demanded of the international human rights organizations to take notice of the plight of Kashmiris detained in jails and play a role in their release before the coming Eid-ul-Adha.
