PDP holds protest against IIOJK admin’s failure to protect people’s lives
Jammu: Mehbooba Mufti-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held a protest in Jammu to express their anger against the failure of New Delhi-installed administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to protect the lives of people, demanding an explanation for the alarming security situation in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest, led by senior party leaders saw dozens of party workers march from the PDP office in Gandhi Nagar. The protesters broke through police barricades and briefly held a sit-in near the Jammu airport road before returning to their office. Senior leaders Satpal Charak, Rajinder Manhas, Sukhwinder Singh, Sunil Bhat, Varinder Singh Sonu, Aditya Gupta, Ranbir Singh, Chuni Lal, Swarn Singh Shanty, Dalip Baru and others were present during the protest.
The protesters said that the occupation authorities were making empty promises, adding “The faith of the people has completely shattered after four attacks within 72 hours. Except for giving statements authorities have done nothing to restore the confidence of the people”. Recent incidents in Hiranagar, Reasi and Doda have exposed the authorities’ tall claims of restoring peace in the territory, they maintained.
The IIOJK authorities were prioritizing the interests of the liquor and sand mafia over the safety of the people, the PDP leaders said.
