Telangana’s Medak town remains tense after Hindutva goons’ violent attack on Muslims
Hyderabad: Following the attack by Hindutva goons against Muslims in Telangana’s Medak, the town remains tense with heavy police deployment and restrictions in place.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in the Medak town, several people got injured when a mob of Hindutva activists attacked Muslim residents over cattles brought for slaughtering on the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha.
The town witnessed clashes, hospital vandalism, and shop closures, with the Hindutva mob targeting Muslims and their properties. In the wake of the saffron party call to observe a strike, security in the town has been tightened to avoid further escalation. The police have also imposed Section 144 in the area.
According to Medak residents, all the trouble began when a mob comprising local Sangh Parivar workers reached the open field in front of Minhaj-ul-Uloom Madarsa, where the cattles for Eid-Al-Adha sacrifice were brought. They created a ruckus over the slaughtering of cattles and started attacking the Muslim representatives including the members of the Madrasa management.
The Hindu mob also attacked the members of the Madrasa committee at the police station where they had gone to file a complaint against those who assaulted them earlier. The Hidutva mob even followed them and beat them as they went to a hospital in the town for treating the injuries.
The Hindutva goons also forcefully closed shops and caused damage to Muslim-owned properties. Several Muslim enterprises were targeted. Several natives of Medak, on condition of anonymity, told media that the police remained silent and inactive while the damage was being done.
