IIOJK: Man flees with AK-47 rifle in Doda, search operation launched
Jammu: A man has gone missing with an AK-47 rifle belonging to a Special Police Officer (SPO) in Doda district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the man identified as Muhammad Rafi went missing along with the SPO’s rifle in Town area of the district on Tuesday evening. Indian forces’ personnel have launched a manhunt to nab him.
According to reports, Rafi, accompanied by the SPO, was coming from Bhella towards his village in a vehicle. When the SPO stepped out of the vehicle to buy essentials, Rafi fled with the rifle. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the Jagota area of Bhalla, but Rafi and the weapon were nowhere to be found.
Indian forces’ personnel have launched a search operation to trace Rafi and recover the missing rifle.
The incident has been confirmed by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Javed Iqbal.
