Indian police raid martyr Syed Ali Gilani’s residence, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat office in Srinagar
APHC condemns raids as an expression of New Delhi’s frustration
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police raided the residence of martyred veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani in Srinagar today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police also searched the office of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in the same locality.
The police specifically targeted Syed Ali Gilani’s room at his residence in the Hyderpora area, seizing his personal books, important documents and other materials.
In a parallel action, the police raided the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat office in the Mominabad locality of Hyderpora. They forcibly entered the office by breaking the lock and seized important documents found there.
Both raids were led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Budgam police station. It is worth noting that India has declared Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir a banned organization.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) strongly condemned the raids, describing them as a clear sign of India’s growing frustration. In a statement issued in Srinagar, the APHC noted that Syed Ali Gilani had been under house arrest for over a decade, during which he attained martyrdom. The raid on his home, the APHC said, was a manifestation of India’s panic and frustration in the face of Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for freedom.
