Srinagar: On the 60th foundation day of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC), senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq pledged to continue the vision and mission of the party’s founder, Shaheed Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq demanded the immediate release of all political leaders, activists, journalists, and civil society members languishing in jails in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and outside the territory.

He paid tribute to the party’s leaders, cadres, and activists, including the founder, who was martyred in 1990. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq reiterated his commitment to carrying forward the party’s legacy, advocating for dialogue and resolution.

Despite current restrictions and gags, the party’s president vowed to continue the struggle for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked party leaders and cadres for their unwavering support and steadfast commitment to the party’s principles.

The AAC was formed in 1964 by Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq as a representative forum for the realization of the aspirations and will of the people of J&K in resolving the Kashmir conflict.
