Kashmiri leader Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri passes away in Islamabad
Islamabad: Senior Kashmiri leader Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri, who represented Jamaat-e-Islami, occupied Jammu and Kashmir, for a long time in the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir branch, passed away in Islamabad. His age was about 80 years.
According to Kashmir Media Service, his funeral prayer will be offered at Jamaat-e-Islami, Azad Kashmir center, in Burma Chowk, Rawalpindi, after Maghrib prayers, today.
Maulana Nowshari was one of the senior leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He worked for Tehreek-e-Azad Kashmir for a long time in association with the Tehreek leader Syed Ali Gilani. He was also a member of the Legislative Assembly of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He was suffering from kidney disease for a long time and passed away in CBR, Islamabad.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Faiz Naqshbandi, Mir Tahir Masood, Muhammad Yousuf Naseemand General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmad Shah in their statements in Islamabad expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in peace.
Other Hurriyat leaders including Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Altaf Wani, Shaukat Hussain Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Shamim Shawl, Sanaullah Dar, Abdul Majid, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt and Altaf Ahmad Butt in their separate statements in Islamabad also condoled the death of Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
