Muharram: A time to reaffirm commitment to justice and equality, says Agha Hassan
Srinagar: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, delivered a poignant message on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Harram, underscoring the enduring legacy of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, Agha Hassan stated, “Muharram is the month in which justice rose against injustice, and truth stood up against falsehood, proving that throughout history, truth has always triumphed over falsehood.”
Senior APHC leader emphasized that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) represents the highest ideals of sacrifice, devotion, continuity, equality, dignity for all, and social justice. “Imam Hussain (RA) never succumbed to coercion, power, or worldly crowns,” he added, highlighting his unwavering commitment to righteousness and integrity.
Agha Hassan urged the community to internalize these lessons and reflect them in their daily actions and deeds. “I humbly request sincere prayers from you all, and may these days of sadness transform our lives for the better,” he concluded, calling for collective introspection and personal growth during this sacred period.
It is pertinent to mention that Muharram is not only a time for mourning but also an opportunity to reaffirm one’s commitment to the principles that Imam Hussain (RA) stood for. Oppressed people around the world, including the Kashmiris, draw strength and inspiration from Imam Hussain’s (RA) struggle, using his example to fight against oppression and injustice in their own regions. His legacy continues to inspire resilience and a relentless pursuit of justice, reminding us that the fight against tyranny is timeless and universal.
