IIOJK Congress criticizes Modi govt’s false claims of normalcy
Jammu,: The Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) organized a protest rally in Jammu, condemning the BJP-led Indian government for its failure to restore peace and normalcy in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, led by IIOJK Congress President Waqar Rasool Wani and Working President Raman Bhalla, the protesters chanted slogans against the BJP and its administration, demanding accountability for the ongoing violence in IIOJK.
Addressing the media, Waqar Rasool Wani criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for its false claims of peace and normalcy in IIOJK following the abrogation of Article 370. Wani highlighted that since 2021, there have been numerous attacks in the Jammu region, resulting in the deaths of 42 Indian soldiers and officers.
“We are deeply concerned about the alarming security situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” Wani stated. He noted that while Jammu had previously been relatively peaceful, the recent attacks indicate a resurgence of armed struggle, contrary to New Delhi’s assertions.
Wani further said the BJP government and its installed IIOJK administration have failed to curb the attacks on Indian forces’ personnel. “These incidents have created a sense of fear among the populace. The government’s anti-militancy policies have failed, and they are not fit to govern,” he asserted.
