First Kashmir Youth Conference held in Nottingham; organized by JKLF-UK
Nottingham: The first Kashmir Youth Conference organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) held in Nottingham city of United Kingdom.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the conference titled “Role of Kashmiri Youth Abroad in Freedom Movement of Kashmir” was attended by Kashmiri students studying in Britain, Kashmiri intellectuals, scholars, Hurriyat leaders, academicians, businessmen, professors, political leaders, civil Society representatives and UK-based human rights leaders participated.
The participants of the Youth Conference reiterated their determination to continue the freedom movement of Kashmir till it reaches to its logical conclusion.
The speakers demanded the release of all the illegally detained Kashmiri political leaders including the Chairman JKLF, Muhammad Yasin Malik. They also demanded withdrawal of military from the occupied territory.
They urged the Kashmiri youth generation to make full efforts to make them aware of their responsibilities regarding the Azad-e-Kashmir movement.
On this occasion, the conference also decided to establish the Jammu and Kashmir Diaspora Youth Council. One session of the conference was based on mutual dialogue between the Kashmiri youth.
The participants of the conference paid tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Butt, the pioneer of liberation movement of Kashmir, JKLF leader Amanullah Khan, prominent Azadi Tehreek, like Dr. Farooq Haider, Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Sheikh Abdul Hameed, Sardar Rashid Hasrat, Shabbir Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr. Abdul Ahad Gaur. Prof. Abdul Ahad Wani, Jalil Ahmed Andrabi, Dr. Merajuddin Munshi, Dr. Ashaie, Abdul Hameed Butt, Sardar Aftab Hussain, Jameel Chaudhry Advocate and founder of Mahaz Raishami Abdul Khaliq Ansari and others.
At the end of the conference passed several resolutions.
The Nottingham Declaration was also approved by the participants. The declaration clarified that the Kashmir Valley, Jammu, Ladakh, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are a part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and an indivisible political entity.
In the declaration, apart from condemning the ongoing Indian state terrorism in IIOJK the participants emphasized on a sustainable solution to the Kashmir conflict, the military withdrawal from the occupied area.
In the declaration, the international community, especially the British Government, has been urged to play its role in resolving the Kashmir conflict.
