Indian atrocities cannot suppress Kashmiris’ freedom spirit: Speakers

Islamabad: A seminar was organized by Youth Forum for Kashmir and Institute of Regional Studies in connection with Accession to Pakistan Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on 19th July in 1947, genuine representatives of the Kashmiris unanimously passed the resolution of Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan during a meeting of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in Aabi Guzar area of Srinagar.

The speakers said Kashmiris have sacrificed a lot against the illegal rule of India, but Indian atrocities cannot suppress the spirit of freedom. India has tried every possible way to deceive Kashmiris in the name of development but it has failed every time, they added.

The speakers highlighted the historic significance of July 19, 1947, when the Kashmiri leadership unanimously resolved to accede to Pakistan, predating the partition of the Indian sub-continent.

They said that the Kashmiri leadership had approved this resolution about a month before the creation of Pakistan, but the ruthless Indian leadership occupied Jammu and Kashmir by landing troops against the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

They said Pakistan has advocated the Kashmiris despite all the difficult situations and has put their case before every forum.

The speakers thanked Pakistan for continuing to support the struggle of Kashmiris for freedom from Indian rule.

The speakers included Senator Zarqa Suhrawardy, APHC-AJK leaders Altaf Hussain Wani and Sheikh Abdul Mateen, senior analyst Farrukh Pitafi, Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, human rights activist Zaman Bajwa and others.
