Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute consistent, resolute: Gilani

Islamabad: Chairman of Senate of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has reiterated that Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir dispute has been consistent and resolute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Yusuf Raza Gilani was leading a delegation of the members of Senate and National Assembly which held a meeting with UK-based representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International and International Students Society based in UK.

Yousaf Raza Gilani said Indian army has blatantly violated international law by denying the people their just right. He acknowledged the efforts of the UK-based platforms working for raising voice for Kashmiri people.

He said Pakistan has highlighted the Kashmir dispute at all international forums such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other global platforms to garner international support and put pressure on India to stop human rights violations in the territory.

The Senate Chairman said Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause is a central element of its foreign policy and it continues to seek a peaceful resolution based on international law, the UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The Kashmiri delegation included Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International, former Lord Mayor of Manchester Yasmine Dar and Zeshan Arif, President, International Students Society.

They appreciated the remarks of the Senate Chairman and thanked him for such a vocal and clear stance on Kashmir dispute.
