Sonia Gandhi criticizes Modi govt’s handling of Jammu and Kashmir
New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi has expressed concern over the prevailing situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it contradicts the Modi government’s claims of normalcy in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the CPP meeting, she said, “There have been 11 attacks in the Jammu region alone, and similar attacks in the Valley as well. This makes a mockery of the claims being made by the Modi Government that all is well in J&K.”
Gandhi also addressed issues in Manipur, criticizing the Prime Minister’s absence from the state amidst ongoing unrest. She emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns of farmers and youth, citing the Budget’s shortcomings in these areas.
Additionally, Gandhi expressed disappointment with the government’s handling of education, competitive examinations, and autonomous organizations. She commended party MPs for their efforts in highlighting the budget’s inadequacies and urged new MPs to be vigilant and committed to their duties.
The CPP meeting also passed a resolution authorizing Gandhi to appoint office-bearers and extended condolences to families affected by recent natural disasters and railway accidents.
