India wants to change demography of IIOJK: Speakers

Rawalpindi: Legal Forum for Kashmir (LFK) and AMBLEM School System organised a seminar “Erasure and resistance: Kashmir’s struggle against settler colonialism in the global South” in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi presided over the seminar.

The speakers on the occasion said that on 05 August 2019, India not only abrogated the article 370 but also tried to change the demography of the occupied territory. They said that India wanted to change the Muslim-majority territory into a minority which it has miserably failed.

They said that after scrapping Article 370 in IIOJK, legislation was also passed regarding the targeting of minorities and the steps taken by India to promote the ideology of RSS and Hindutva but this narrative was broken.

APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that the Indian government was trying to convince the world that Jammu and Kashmir was a part of its territory which was not true.

He maintained that India’s brutal and illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir was not only a violation of international laws but also a mockery of internationally recognized principles of human rights.

Director of AMBLEM School System Lt. Col (r) Murtaza Ali Shah speaking on the occasion highlighted the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.
