Kashmiri people making unmatched sacrifices for freedom: Attaullah Tarar
Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for the right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at a webinar organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin on the eve of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, Tarar highlighted the immense sacrifices made by the people of IIOJK in their quest for freedom from Indian occupation. He emphasized that these sacrifices underscore the determination and resilience of Kashmiris in their pursuit of justice.
Tarar condemned the unilateral and illegal actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, which he described as attempts to disempower the Kashmiri people, strip them of their voting rights, and forcefully displace them from their homeland. He reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed territory, and India’s ongoing occupation represents a violation of international law and a blatant disregard for human rights.
The Information Minister stressed that Pakistan will persist in advocating for the Kashmiri people until the international community takes concrete action to address the situation. He called on the global community to exert pressure on India to end its severe human rights abuses and to reverse the unilateral and illegal measures imposed since August 5, 2019.
Tarar underscored that the international community bears a responsibility to act decisively to halt India’s ongoing violations and to support the Kashmiri people’s enduring struggle for their fundamental rights.
