Body of a boy and a man recovered from Jhelum at Sangam, Pantha Chookh
Srinagar: Body of a teenage boy, was fished out from Jhelum River at Sangam area of Islamabad while another body of a man was retrieved from Jhelum at Pantha Chookh, Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, body of a teenager boy was retrieved, who drowned in River Jhelum at Halmulla village of Sangam in Bijbehara, was retrieved by local rescuers Monday (today) morning, a local official said.
The boy identified as Muhammad Shabir son of Noor Mohammad, a resident of Budhan Reasi, drowned on Sunday afternoon.
Confirming the retrieval of the body from the site, a police official told GNS that the body has been handed over to the family for last rites.
Meanwhile, body of a man was recovered from the River Jhelum near Pantha Chookh area of Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
The man has been identified as Tariq Ahmad of Pampore, and his body has been sent to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident
