Mehbooba Mufti placed under house arrest, party office sealed in Srinagar
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has said that she was placed under house arrest on Monday, the fifth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti told the media over phone that her party office was also locked amid restrictions.
Additionally, National Conference chief spokesman Tanvir Sadiq said that he was detained at his home, stating that it was “completely unnecessary” and “unwarranted.”
Sadiq took to social media platform X to express his discontent, posting a picture showing policemen outside his gate, preventing him from leaving his residence.
