Prayers offered for peace and prosperity as Kashmiris celebrate Pakistan Day

Srinagar: Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir despite restrictions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, people observed Pakistan’s Independence Day with great enthusiasm and devotion, hoisting Pakistan flags and posters with slogans in various parts of the Kashmir valley and Jammu region. Pro-freedom Kashmiri youth raised Pakistani flags on Pakistan’s Independence Day and burnt Indian flags in Jammu, Rajouri, Doda and Islamabad districts in protest of New Delhi’s illegal occupation of their motherland.

Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir leader Ms. Hafza Bano held a function in Islamabad, congratulating the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for its unwavering support to the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination at international forums. Speakers prayed for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in Pakistan, believing a strong and stable Pakistan is crucial for resolving the Kashmir dispute. They expressed hope that Pakistan would continue its moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.

Other Hurriyat parties and leaders also celebrated Pakistan Independence Day in Srinagar, saying Indian oppression has failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom. They supported the APHC’s call to observe Indian Independence Day as a Black Day and hoist black flags across the occupied territory. Kashmiris are grateful to Pakistan for its wholehearted moral, political, and diplomatic support to their just freedom struggle since 1947.
