Two Muslim men brutally assaulted in UP over false allegations of transporting beef

ؒLucknow: In a disturbing incident in Uttar Pradesh, two Muslim men were brutally attacked by a Hindutva mob after being falsely accused of transporting banned meat.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in the Crossing Republic area of Ghaziabad when the vehicle carrying the men, Ashraf and Aamir, both residents of Delhi, overturned near ABES College, causing the meat they were transporting to spill onto the road.

According to reports, members of a Hindutva extremist group, including activists from the Bajrang Dal, swiftly descended upon the scene. Without verifying the facts, they accused the men of transporting meat from banned animals.

Despite Ashraf and Aamir’s desperate protests and pleas for mercy, the mob tied them up and unleashed a brutal assault, with bystanders joining in the violence. A chilling video of the incident, capturing the mob’s savagery, quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

The Hindutva extremists eventually handed the battered men over to the police. However, a subsequent investigation, aided by veterinary experts, confirmed that the meat was not from banned animals. It was legally being transported from a licensed factory in Mussoorie to Delhi. Despite this confirmation, the authorities buried the meat as a precaution.

Adding insult to injury, the police registered a case against Ashraf and Aamir under the Animal Cruelty Act, while a complaint has also been lodged against the attackers. Further action is anticipated following a detailed investigation.

This incident is a grim reflection of the growing climate of intolerance and violence against minorities in India, where baseless accusations are often met with mob justice, particularly under the influence of Hindutva extremism.
