13 killed, 33 injured in Andhra Pradesh pharma firm explosion
Amaravati: At least 13 people were killed and 33 were injured in an explosion at a pharmaceutical firm in Andhra Pradesh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the explosion killed 13 employees and injured 33 others at Escientia, a pharmaceutical company located in the Atchutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The incident occurred during lunch hour, catching many employees off guard.
Anakapalli Superintendent of Police, Deepika Patil, confirmed the death toll and stated that the blast happened at the reactor site, but not in the reactor itself. The source of the blast is yet to be determined, Patil added.
Meanwhile, the injured have been shifted to Anakapalli NTR Hospital and a nearby private hospital for medical treatment.
