‘Youth Parliament will raise Kashmir dispute in every forum’
Islamabad: A delegation of the Youth Parliament visited the office of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJC) chapter in Islamabad, today, where Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed, Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt welcomed the delegation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Youth Parliament President Obaid Qureshi, speaking in the meeting, appreciated the efforts of the Hurriyat Conference in highlighting the Kashmir dispute and said the Youth Parliament will raise the Kashmir dispute in every forum and will work together with the Hurriyat Conference.
Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi thanking the delegation of the Youth Parliament for coming to Hurriyat office, said that the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had declared Kashmir as jugular vein of Pakistan, so the government of Pakistan, the political forces, the institutions and the people of Pakistan must pay special attention to the Kashmir dispute.
He deplored that India had committed many massacres in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and now it is rapidly changing the demography of the territory by settling non-state residents there.
He said the Hurriyat Conference has links with every party and every institution here and wants that the government of Pakistan and all its institutions, all the parties of Pakistan and every individual should have the same narrative regarding Kashmir.
He said, “We do not believe in a phased solution but we want a comprehensive settlement and that is a referendum under the supervision of the United Nations.”
He said that the main issue was right to self-determination and all other issues are secondary, adding “Our issue is not development but complete independence from India.”
Prayers were also offered at the end of the meeting.
Convener Hurriyat Conference Ghulam Ahmed Safi, General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed, Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Dawood Khan, Shamim Shawl, Ijaz Rehmani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Raja Khadim Hussain, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Imtiaz Wani, Zahid Ashraf, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Syed Gulshan, Mian Muzaffar, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Nazir Karnai, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Youth Parliament President Obaid Qureshi, Yahya Mir, Manal Khattak, Usman Haideri and Afshan Kayani were also present in the meeting.
