Indian police kill two Muslim youth in Assam
Guwahati: Indian police killed two Muslim youth, including a young boy, and injured several others in Assam state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the two Bengali-speaking Muslim youth were killed and several others were injured by the Indian police firing near Guwahati in Assam.
The Indian police fired when the Muslims were protesting against the anti-Muslim policies of the BJP government in the state.
The victims have been identified as Zubair Ali, 19, and Haidar Ali, 22, police said. Eleven other protesters were also injured, media reports said.
Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, the chief of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), said the killing of the two homeless villagers was inhuman.
In September 2021, two Bengali-speaking Muslims were also killed in police firing during an eviction drive at Gorukhuti in Darrang district in North Assam.
