Omar Abdullah critiques Modi’s focus on dynastic politics in IIOJK
Srinagar: National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah has strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his repeated emphasis on dynastic politics, saying it underscores a lack of meaningful achievements in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) over the past five years.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Omar Abdullah was referring to the Indian Prime Minister’s recent speech in Srinagar where Modi focused on attacking “the three families”—referring to the Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi families—rather than addressing pressing local issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters, Omar Abdullah remarked, “What else can we expect from the BJP? It cannot talk about anything because it does not have anything to show from the past five years.”
He highlighted the escalating violence and growing resentment among the people of IIOJK, asserting, “The past five years were wasted, with rising incidents of attacks and increasing discontent.” He urged the Indian government to recognize and tackle the pressing challenges faced by the people of the territory instead of diverting attention to political rivalries.
