Hindu extremists announce to demolish mosque in Shimla
New Delhi: The mosque in Shimla, the capital of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, has also become the target of Hindu extremists.
According to Kashmir Media Service, leader of India’s ruling party BJP Rakesh Sharma and councilor Rachna Sharma have submitted a memorandum to the administration, in which it has been said that the mosque built in Kasampatti is illegal and the mosque has been built on the land of the Indian government. In 2016-17, the mosque of Kasampti was inaugurated.
The leaders said that according to the Waqf Board Act, there must be 40 Muslim families in the area to build a mosque, but there are not that many Muslim families in Kasampati.
In favour of the demand of the Hindu extremists, the local administration has deployed forces personnel around the mosque. Identity cards are checked to go to the mosque. If someone comes from outside, he is not allowed to enter the mosque.
Earlier a 700-year-old mosque was destroyed by the Delhi Development Authority in the capital of India.
Extremists have their eyes on many other historical mosques and shrines, in this context, the 700-year-old mosque established in Mehrauli area of Delhi was demolished.
