Lightning kills 8 people including 6 students in Chhattisgarh
New Delhi: Eight people, including six students, have been killed due to lightning in Rajnand village of Chhattisgarh, India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the students who were killed by lightning were 11th and 12th grade students of Morhipur High School.
After giving their exams, they were going to their villages Jura Terai and Mangata when it started raining with heavy thunder. For that, they took shelter in a dirt house on the roadside. Two local villagers were also present with them. They were killed on the spot due to a sudden lightning strike.
A young man was badly burned by lightning and has been shifted to the hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
