Gulmarg receives season’s first snowfall amid rain across Kashmir Valley
Srinagar: The world-renowned health and ski resort of Gulmarg in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has received the season’s first snowfall, while other areas of the Kashmir Valley experienced rainfall.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, Gulmarg, located in the Baramulla district, recorded 2 inches of snowfall on Friday morning, while other parts of the Valley have been receiving rainfall since Thursday.
This fresh precipitation brought much-needed relief from a recent heat wave that persisted for nearly five days, an reported by officials.
An independent weather forecaster noted that generally cloudy conditions are expected across the territory, with the possibility of rain in some areas throughout the day. Additionally, another spell of rain is anticipated tonight and into early tomorrow morning, with heavy showers also possible in the Jammu plains. However, an improvement in weather conditions is expected by tomorrow afternoon, with mostly dry weather forecasted until October 4, accompanied by a significant drop in nighttime temperatures.
